 About Virat Kohli

Virat born on 5 November 1988 in Delhi and started his career playing his first-class cricket in 2006. He became popular when he captained under-19 Indian cricket team which lifted world cup in 2008.

He started his career in Indian team by playing against srilanka at young age of 19, Kohli holds numerous Indian batting records like, the fastest batsman to 5,000 ODI runs and the fastest to 10 ODI centuries. He is only the second batsman in the world to have scored 1,000 or more ODI runs for four consecutive calendar years.

Virat Kohli joined Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) In March 2008, Kohli was bought on a youth contract in 2008 for $30,000, In 2013 after retirement of Daniel vettori, Virat kohli assumed captaincy of RCB and created numerous records in shorter format of cricket.

In March 2013, Kohli started a charity foundation called Virat Kohli Foundation (VKF). The organisation aims at helping underprivileged kids and conducts events to raise funds for the charity.

In May 2014, eBay and Save the Children India conducted a charity auction with VKF, with its proceeds benefiting the education and healthcare of underprivileged children.

ALL Heart FootBall Club

Kohli has captained the All Heart Football Club, owned by VKF, in charity football matches against All Stars Football Club, owned by Abhishek Bachchan’s Playing for Humanity.

The matches, known as “Celebrity Clasico”, feature cricketers playing for All Heart and Bollywood actors in the All Stars team, and are organized to generate funds for the two-charity foundation.

Virat donated money to old age home

Last Year during IPL 9, Virat visited an old age home in Pune and Virat Kohli’s Foundation joined hands with ABIL Foundation to extend help to Old Age Home ‘Abhalmaya’, which is currently home to 57 senior citizens and virat also donated 50% of match fee to the old age people.

Virat Adopted Dogs

Recently a week ago Virat adopted 15 dogs from Charlie’s Animal Rescue Centre (CARE), in Bengaluru, where virat will take complete financial responsibility for these dogs, which include a few blind, paraplegic, and chronically ill dogs.
