Annual turnover of this Florist Bollapally Srikanth is Rs.70 crores

Born in small village Bodan in Nizamabad district of Telangana, the life of Bollapally Srikanth took sharp turn in 1995 when class 10 dropout had to leave his home and had to move to Bangalore in search of Job.

At the young age of 16 to due to extreme poverty level of his family, he moved to Bangalore in search of  small job.

Bollapally Srikanth moved to Nelamangala in the outskirts of Bengaluru and his first job was to work in greenhouse project for a floriculture company for a salary of Rs 1,000 per month and he had small room to stay in farm , he used to work for about 18 to 20 hours daily for two years, where he learnt each and everything about floriculture.

When he was just 18 ,with the small saving of Rs.12,000 and borrowed money he decided to use the learning he got on floriculture to start similar kind of floriculture company,  He started a flower shop, Om Sri Sai Flowers, in a 200 sq ft space at his residence in Wilson Garden, Bengaluru.

He used to collect flowers from the growers, and he himself used to pack and parcel the flowers. Slowly the customer base started to expand and he hired two employees to help him in his work, his business started to grow faster when he started to get orders to supply flowers for wedding.

As business grew, he tied up with growers on a buy-back arrangement he slowly started promoting a lot of growers from Ooty, Coorg, Kodaikanal and other places, In the very first year, he achieved a turnover of Rs 5 lakh and by 7th year the turnover was Rs 5 crore.

In 2005 he bought 10 acres of land in rural Bengaluru, and started his floriculture venture by name Vensai Floritech. In 2009-10, he expanded his business by buying 30 more acres of land around the same place. He also bought 10 more acres in Coonoor in the Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu.

To bridge the excess of demand he started to import flowers from different parts of India, this slowly expanded to other countries like Thailand, Holland and Australia. The flowers from his farm attracted Dubai market so he started to export it to Dubai.

Bollapally Srikanth also implemented sustainable farming techniques in his success journey, he uses Greenhouse cultivation, circulation fans, drip irrigation and rain water harvesting. Today he employed more than 300 people employed at his farms and office in Wilson Garden. Today the Annual turnover of this florist is Rs.70 crores.

The success story of Srikanth inspires people from village who are migrating to cities in search of jobs leaving agriculture. His hard work and determination will motivate billions who feel poverty and age as hurdle before thinking big.
